You can't make old friends. But you can make old friends birthday presents! And since making surprise furniture for friends can be an awkward gift, we decided to go a different route.
The japanese maple tree in Sarah's backyard is such a brilliant maroon color that we just had to gather armfuls of leaves, chop 'em up, and create a dye bath for two pieces of slightly textured organic cotton.
Sewed her up, and voila! This blanket is on her way to Cleveland (along with our hearts).
Happy birthday! We love you, Liz!
